New 2026 housing tax incentives for new homes have passed into law in Ontario, Canada. For the first time ever, the full 13% HST is being removed on qualifying new homes, saving buyers up to $130,000.

Ontario covers the 8% provincial portion and the federal government covers the 5% federal portion. Whether you're a first-time buyer, an investor, or an existing homeowner looking to buy again this rebate applies to you.

The expanded rebate is available from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
